Introductory

In the field of home entertainment, significant development has taken place in recent years. In addition to traditional televisions, projectors are gaining more and more space, which allow us to enjoy our favorite films, series or games on a "screen" that fills an entire wall. In this line of development, the ETOE Seal Pro projector was released, which combines the latest technologies with user-friendly handling.

The ETOE company, although a relatively new player on the market, quickly caught up with the leading brands with its innovative products. The Seal Pro model is a good example of the company's philosophy: to offer top-quality image and sound, all in such a way that using the device does not pose a challenge even for less tech-savvy users.

The Seal Pro projector offers many uses. It can be a perfect choice for a cozy home theater where family and friends can enjoy the cinema experience together. At the same time, it is also excellent for business presentations, as the portable size and simple setup allow us to present our ideas professionally anywhere.

One of the outstanding features of the device is that it has a built-in Google TV system. This not only means that we can access the most popular streaming services, but also that the projector can be integrated into smart home systems if needed. With the support of Google Assistant, you can even control the device with your voice, further simplifying use.

ETOE Seal Pro is not just a simple projector, but a full-fledged entertainment center. Thanks to the built-in speakers and Dolby Audio support, you don't need a separate sound system to get the full cinema experience. And the Chromecast function allows you to easily mirror the screen of your smartphone or tablet on the projector.

In addition to all these features, the Seal Pro projector stands out from the competition with its dust protection and long life. The fully enclosed optical system not only protects image quality, but also significantly reduces the need for maintenance, so users can enjoy flawless performance for many years.

Overall, based on the paper format, this machine can be a serious challenger to the Wanbo projectors that have become increasingly popular lately, in this test I will probably refer to my previous experiences with Wanbo. Let's take a look inside and see what the machine looks like from the outside!

Unpacking, exterior and accessories

The box is flashy, but not ostentatious or kitsch. So it shows the image of a serious product, which may be worth adding to our basket. On the cardboard, we find very minimal technical specifications, and we find a rather long text about the Google rating, which allows e.g. the projection of Netflix in HD resolution.

We tested: ETOE Seal Pro projector - A new dimension of home entertainment 4

A lot of things are not waiting for us in the box. A remote control, an antistatic wipe, a description, and of course the network cable and the external power supply. Until now, it was customary to pack an HDMI cable at least next to the machine, but it seems that this is no longer fashionable either. Let's say it's also true that I never used the included HDMI cables, so I'm not crying because of its absence.

What is the machine like?

At first glance, the ETOE Seal Pro projector has a modern and clean design. With its compact size - 25,7 x 19,2 x 17,8 cm (length x width x height) - it can be easily placed in any room or office. The weight of the projector is 4,7 kg, which, although it does not make it ultra-light, still allows for convenient transportation when necessary, especially since a convenient handle has been added to the top.

The exterior of the projector is characterized by an elegant, black casing, which is not only aesthetic, but also practical. It resists fingerprints quite well and is easy to clean. The front part has the lens, which, similarly to Wanbo's products, does not have a lens protector, and we do not get a separate cap for this purpose. At least there is a reason why they provide an antistatic wipe with the machine.

Let me note that this solution without a cover or lens protector is quite expensive, since how much would a plastic cap cost, two pennies? Unfortunately, this is not only a problem with ETOE, it has become fashionable to use this small, cheap, but useful accessory for projectors.

The main controls are located on the top of the device, allowing access to basic functions even when the remote control is not available. These include the power button, volume rocker, and navigation buttons. The layout of the buttons is intuitive, easy to understand even for those who encounter the device for the first time.

The connectors are located on the back of the projector, ensuring an orderly routing of the cables. The ETOE Seal Pro has a USB port, an HDMI input, an AV port, and a 24V DC power connector. This set of connectors covers most usage needs, whether it's a media player, game console or computer.

The cooling system of the projector should be highlighted. ETOE engineers placed great emphasis on efficient, yet quiet operation. The ventilation openings on the sides of the device ensure adequate air flow, while the noise of the fan remains at a minimum level, according to the description, without disturbing the experience of watching movies or playing games. Of course I will check this when I start the test!

One of the most important external features of the Seal Pro is the completely enclosed and dust-free optical system. Of course, this design does not have an aesthetic role, if no dust gets inside the device, long-term, maintenance-free operation and consistent image quality are ensured.

Specification

The ETOE Seal Pro projector has impressive technical data based on the factory specification. The device offers a native resolution of 1080p, which means a picture of Full HD quality. The brightness of 1000 ANSI lumens ensures that the projected image is clearly visible even in daylight conditions, and the contrast ratio of 3000:1 ensures that both dark and light details are clearly distinguished in the image.

The projection distance of the projector ranges from 1,1 meters to 5,4 meters, which allows us to use it optimally in rooms of different sizes. The size of the projected image can be adjusted between 40 and 200 inches, so you can enjoy the content either on a smaller wall surface or on a full movie screen. The 1.22:1 projection ratio ensures that we can project a large image even from a relatively short distance.

The device is not left behind in terms of sound either: it has two 10-watt built-in speakers that are Dolby Audio certified. This ensures that the sound is not only loud, but also of high quality, further enhancing the cinema experience.

At the heart of the projector is an MT 9630 processor and Mali G52 graphics chip, complemented by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage space. This configuration not only enables smooth image display, but also ensures smooth running of the Google TV system.

One of the most important features of the ETOE Seal Pro is the built-in Google TV 11.0 system. This software platform offers many advantages to users. It primarily provides access to more than 9000 applications, including the most popular streaming services such as Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video or Disney+. Additional applications can be installed through the Google Play store, so the functionality of the projector can be continuously expanded.

One of the outstanding features of the Google TV system is the built-in Google Assistant support. This allows users to control the projector with their voice. With simple voice commands, we can search for content, start applications, or even control our home smart devices through the projector.

The device also supports the Chromecast function, which allows you to mirror the screen from your smartphone or tablet directly to the projector. This can be especially useful during presentations or if you want to quickly share something on the "big screen". AirPlay support gives users of Apple devices a similar option.

The menu system of the projector is easy to understand and manage. The main menu provides quick access to installed applications, recently viewed content, and personalized recommendations. Under the settings menu, you can fine-tune the picture and sound settings, manage the connected devices, or update the system.

Experiences

Finally comes the essential part. I don't like to discuss the specification, but let's face it, somewhere this is also essential in the case of a test. The point is that we are over it!

Projector is out of the box. I look at it, turn it, and notice a door that can be opened at the bottom. Ahem, that will be the extra dust filter. I open it, but there is nothing behind the door. Maybe just the location of the dust filter. I don't know why this got here, if it's already here, then why didn't they add anything to it?

I close the door and am surprised to notice that there is a thread in the middle of the base, which can be used to easily place the machine on a tripod. I would say that this is good, but I'm afraid not, because the ETOE Seal Pro is almost 5 kilos. The procession will be able to handle this crowd if, for example, do I accidentally push the projector, or does the shit break and the machine falls?

We tested: ETOE Seal Pro projector - A new dimension of home entertainment 11

I try to avoid this, but I use this thread for the test. I walk past the tripod and the projector is swinging on top. I won't walk past him. Actually, it's good that this option is available, after all, there are also small table tripods, I could probably put it on them without stomach cramps, and it could be easily directed to the canvas. But it is no coincidence that the tray projector holder is already recommended for machines of this weight. I recommend this to you too!

Okay, ETOE Seal Pro in place, canvas in place, let's turn it on.

The logo appears, the image hangs unsightly on the canvas. It projects a visibly larger image from the same distance than Wanbo's flagship projector. It's okay, it will adjust itself...

We tested: ETOE Seal Pro projector - A new dimension of home entertainment 12

Well, no, it doesn't set itself up. Sharpness is good, automatic keystone correction does not work. Maybe it's not turned on - I think it's the settings. It's on, not working yet. Okay, no problem, I'll set it manually! I'm finally experiencing good things. The zoom and keystone correction are also great, I can reduce the size of the image to a serious extent, so it fits onto the screen from my usual projection point. Hooray!

I won't tell you much about the software, it's a typical Android TV interface, perhaps the only interesting thing about it is that ETOE Seal Pro has its own settings interface for normal picture and sound settings, we don't have to mess around with the Android TV settings.

We tested: ETOE Seal Pro projector - A new dimension of home entertainment 13

The range of settings is wide, there are quite a few pre-tuned picture and sound profiles, I like them, they bring what their name suggests. I set everything to cinema, because I want to watch movies!

Fortunately, the apps of the streaming providers can (predominantly) be set up with a simple QR code, that is, I scan the QR code with my phone, I click on authorization and my profile appears on the projector on the streaming app's launch interface. So if I leave a movie on the TV, I can even continue on the projector from the point where I left off on the TV.

You are obviously interested in the quality of the picture and sound.

We tested: ETOE Seal Pro projector - A new dimension of home entertainment 14

Well, the Wanbo Mozart1 Pro that I love is rated at 900 ANSI lumens and the ETOE Seal Pro at 1000 ANSI. Now I would say I can see the difference, but I don't. At least not like wow, but the picture is clear. However, since Wanbo is used quite a lot at our place, it appears that the image of the ETOE Seal Pro is somehow richer in detail. Okay, you don't have to think of something big here, but still, there is a difference, and this is probably due to the slightly (10 percent) higher brightness.

Of course, it's not a laser projector yet, nor is it an expensive DLP, but it's definitely not bad from what I see!

The sound is interesting. At first I would say it's not very good, but then I started a movie and people, I felt like I was in a movie theater! I'm trying to describe what I experienced in a meaningful way. So you sit in the cinema, the movie starts, the sound comes on. A little deep, a little rumbling, a little exaggerated dynamics, perhaps helped by the acoustics of the cinema. So it's not a perfect, crystal-clear, tinkling concert experience, but rather a cinema.

Well, the sound of the ETOE Seal Pro in cinema mode is just like that. I am amplifying it and even more so. It doesn't distort, it just hums, rumbles, pushes the explosions in its own cinematic way. I have never heard of such a projector. I emphasize that the quality of the sound is not the point here, because an audiophile would surely run out of the room, but going to the cinema is more than perfect, you get a real cinema atmosphere, all you need is a bucket of cola and another bucket of popcorn.

We tested: ETOE Seal Pro projector - A new dimension of home entertainment 15

Speaking of sound, I'll also touch on the sound of cooling. Well, it's not as quiet as the factory description suggests, but it's not offensive. It's even, not too loud, doesn't chirp, doesn't click, so while watching a movie, on the one hand, the sound of the cinema suppresses it, and on the other hand, our brain turns off the rest. So after turning it on, you might find it loud, but it's not annoying when watching a movie.

A few more words about the software.

So I like Google TV a lot myself, others don't like it, and the interesting thing is that those who don't like it, don't like it because I do. Because of its low cost. My opinion is that the Google TV interface is there to get to the app interface as easily as possible. Then, within the app, I expect it not to be low-cost, but in the case of Google TV, it's perfectly fine.

We tested: ETOE Seal Pro projector - A new dimension of home entertainment 16

It's good because I can easily find what I want, and it's good because I don't need powerful hardware.

It is important to note here that the ETOE Seal Pro has 2 GB of memory and 16 GB of built-in storage, which is quite a lot. We often only get 1 GB of memory for FHD resolution, 2 GB only for devices with 4K resolution. Here, in addition to 1080p, we also get 2 GB! At the same time, the frame rate seems to have been uneven for some streaming providers. I don't claim that this is the fault of the projector, it could very well be the weakness of my internet, but it seems that the frame rate fluctuated a bit.

In any case, 2 GB is not bad, just as the backup storage is not bad, although 16 GB does not seem like a lot, since we do not store data, only apps, it will not be enough. For me, this is e.g. enough for everything.

We tested: ETOE Seal Pro projector - A new dimension of home entertainment 17

One more thing, screen mirroring. The process itself is of course simple, since Android is basically prepared for screen mirroring to external devices, and since the projector also runs Android, there should be no problem. There isn't any. At least until you want to play, because then there is. The projector is essentially useless for this purpose. Latency isn't the problem, because some games could still be played that way. The problem is that the connection is interrupted, so the image is also interrupted, and this makes all kinds of games impossible. So you can project the image of your phone, you can show the family the photos taken on vacation, but here approx. science ends.

Finally, one more important thing that doesn't seem important, but I think it is because of the convenience of use. And this is the remote control, which is not infrared, but Bluetooth, so it can control the projector from a greater distance and even without direct line of sight.

Conclusion

As a tester, I was most interested in whether the ETOE Seal Pro could kick a ball with the Wanbo, and the answer to that question is: YES! This is a very definite yes, even if the sound quality of the Wanbo Mozart1 Pro is better. It's true, it also has a really big subwoofer, so that's no wonder. Along with that, as I wrote, the cinema-imitating sound of the ETOE Seal Pro completely blew me away!

We tested: ETOE Seal Pro projector - A new dimension of home entertainment 18

I don't think you can complain about the quality of the picture. Among LCD projectors, this is considered really good quality, but it still shouldn't be compared with a more serious DLP projector, but especially a more serious laser projector. Let's just say it doesn't cost as much as those. The contrast is good, the colors are good, the detail is there, the latter, as I wrote, might even beat the Wanbo.

Overall, I like the ETOE Seal Pro. Its base price is almost HUF the same as the price of the Wanbo Mozart1 Pro, but now with the coupon for the article, this price difference has increased to HUF 16 (in favor of Seal Pro, of course), so the decision is not so difficult. The Wanbo has a nicer sound, but it can't deliver the cinematic feel that the ETOE Seal Pro could. The brightness of ETOE Seal Pro on larger paper is approx. by 10 percent, but this results in a barely noticeable difference during use. With the current HUF 16 difference, these can be convincing reasons for choosing.

We tested: ETOE Seal Pro projector - A new dimension of home entertainment 19

Let me write it now, is the tripod recording mentioned at the beginning of the article the biggest difference between the two machines? Strange, but approx. this is the case, so I leave it up to everyone to decide which one to buy. I am sure that the ETOE Seal Pro will not disappoint!

If you like the machine, use the NNNETOESP coupon code with which you can reduce the price of the projector from the original HUF 140 to HUF 120. The product will arrive to you from an EU warehouse, so you don't have to pay customs, plus VAT, etc.!
