Apple unveiled the new Mac Pro on the first day of an event called the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco.
The Power Mac was the last Apple machine to be equipped with an IBM processor, and its successor, the Mac Pro, features Intel Xeon 5100 chips, which means all computers in the California company have x86 CPUs.

Regardless of the configuration, the new machines will come with two Woodcrest codenamed, dual-core server processors, each with 4 MB of L2 cache and available in three power levels, clocked at 2,66, 3 and XNUMX GHz, respectively.

Graphics performance in the most modest design is provided by the 7300 MB version of the NVIDIA GeForce 256 GT, of which up to four can be ordered at a time, as the motherboard with 4 PCI Express interfaces allows for multi-screen display. If you only need a single, but much faster video card, the ATI Radeon X1900 XT and NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 may be the ideal choice. We can ask members of the Apple Cinema Display product family for a monitor, here the smallest display has an image diagonal of 20 inches, while the largest LCD is 30 inches.

By default, the machine has 512 MB of DDR2 memory twice, while the top version includes 8 modules of 2 gigabytes each. There are several options for storing our data: from the smallest 160 GB solution to 4 × 500 GB SATA hard drives. Its optical drive is a unit called SuperDrive with 16 × DVD and 24 × CD burning capabilities.

We can completely customize the Mac Pro, determine which components make up the configuration that works best for us. The starting price is $ 2500 (HUF 510), but if we order all the extras, the final price is close to $ 18, which translates to about $ 500.
