The Huawei U8230 can arrive on store shelves with Android

A manufacturer with significant experience in the network devices market is also trying its luck in the smartphone market.

Although the name Huawei may sound unfamiliar to many in connection with mobile phones, it is worth mentioning that the manufacturer has been operating in this segment for a long time as a supplier to big-name companies. There are now signs that the moment has come for the company to launch a device under its own name, which at first glance seems like a promising attempt. The main attraction of the 3,5-inch device with a touch-sensitive design is the use of the Android operating system from Google’s workshop, which can be a major weapon in the fight for the favors of customers. Of course, applications that are integral to the operating system are also included in the device, so you can use Google Maps, Google Search, and Google Talk services directly from the device, among other things.

Equipped with a 3,2 megapixel camera and a 1500 mAh battery, the U8230 is expected to hit store shelves in the second quarter of 2009, the first in T-Mobile’s offering. We do not yet have officially confirmed information about the purchase price of the device.
