Since the release of the first motherboards with a PCI Express × 16 slot, the theme has been to overcome the problems caused by the sudden extinction of the AGP interface. Converters, emulated AGP, hybrid chipsets, we thought we could already admire every possible patching attempt. Well, MSI has proven we were wrong!
The card in the picture speaks for itself, we really shouldn’t comment on it. The Radeon X800, which can be installed in two ways, is an extremely interesting idea, let us hope that we will soon find similar high-end solutions.
The question, of course, is the usual one: at what price can we get an otherwise extremely trusting card, isn’t it a compatibility issue, is the cooler in one position in the opposite direction to the usual, and whether we get the same performance when using both surfaces. Probably for most, such a card can be excellent, the only problem is that it does not solve the most important problem, which is what will happen to the high-end, more expensive AGP video controllers already on the market.
