Not even the placement is really interesting, but the growth achieved in a year.

Xiaomi is the 4th largest phone maker

Xiaomi's phones are excellent, many people already know this at home. Their devices are becoming more and more popular, be it entry-level or top-notch. They are conquering more and more markets, in India, which is currently the most important emerging market, they are the largest.

Thus, it is no coincidence that they have ranked fourth in terms of unit sales and market share globally. More interesting than the ranking, however, is how much the company grew between 2017 and the first quarter of 2018. In terms of units sold, sales increased from 12,6 million to 28,3 million, while the third Huawei was only able to increase the number of units by 4,8 million, the second Apple by 1,4 million and the market leader Samsung turned the trend into a minus, 1 million less they could only sell a phone.

The rate of growth is similar in terms of market share. Xiaomi grew 4,6 percent, Huawei 1,6 percent, Apple 0,6 percent, and Samsung 0,1 percent.

In both statistics, the fifth Oppo lost, but the biggest market slice was not lost by them, but by the emerging manufacturers. Overall, they sold 25 million fewer phones and their market share fell from 41,9 to 35,7 percent.

If Xiaomi’s momentum is not broken, then the future could be third. True, you will definitely have a word or two from the competition.
