I'm a black belt airfryer user, since I've been baking all kinds of things in such a device on an almost daily basis for years. I am currently using an Ultenic oven, almost the same as the subject of this test, but still different, a less sensible one.
If anyone, I know what kind of oil to fry in. One of the defining memories of my childhood is the pot stored in the oven, burnt black from oil, in which the potatoes and fried meat were fried. And of course the oil vapor, which you cleaned in vain, got into everything, was smelly and stuck.
When the oil fryers appeared, it was a real salvation, especially those that had an oil drain and filter, so that all kinds of burnt things did not collect in the oil, they could be used several times, and the smell became more tolerable.
Of course, these weren't without macera either, because the oily dishes also had to be washed, at that time there weren't dishwashers everywhere, so it was better, but nowhere near perfect.
Today, however, there are ovens called Airfryer, which do not, or really only require a few drops of oil. Do foods taste different than those fried in oil? To a certain extent, but from the moment you get rid of the taste of oil, you realize that food made without oil or with very minimal oil finally has its own taste, not just the oil.
So, many words have the same ending, I like it. Yes, over time I have come to love these practical ovens, and now I can present to you one that, in my opinion, is a true champion structure.
When I was asked to write a test about this oven, I didn't want to do it at first, because the machine I use is almost completely identical to this one, but then I thought that I have more than a year of experience with this machine, which I can describe in this way.
Well, going back to the similarity, the two machines are essentially the same, with the difference that mine is smart. Nowadays, everything is smart, if you need it, if you don't. At first, with the smartness of my oven, I was like, okay, why not, after all, it wasn't expensive, but after the first few weeks, I didn't take out my phone, I didn't check how much baking was left, I didn't choose recipes. It all came to nothing.
Now I suspect that I was not alone in this, because the manufacturer came up with the E version this autumn, which is not smart. The two machines are identical in every detail, only this one does not have a Bluetooth interface and cannot be controlled from a phone.
What have we gained by abandoning cleverness? Well, nothing but money. Because, while the smart version cost over HUF 30, the dumb one can now be purchased for less than HUF 23 in Black Friday sales, which means a price difference of roughly 30 percent, and that is significant.
Well, let's get a little more specific about what this oven can do!
I think the shape is more practical, not square, but not round either. This takes up less space with the same space size than round solutions. The top is flat, which is good because it is easy to clean. There are no protruding parts, the roof frame is a little higher than the middle part with the buttons, but the dirt does not get into it either.
After use, we usually put our oven in the cupboard, so cleanability is an important aspect, this oven is flawless!
The basket is 5 liters anyway, which is the bigger size these days. In domestic discount stores, there are usually 2,5-3 liter machines, which are only good if you want to bake something small for one or two people. If you have a family or guests coming, then you need the bigger one. I think this 5 liter, or 5,5 liter for some machines, is the right one, it already fits a whole chicken in one.
Ultenic also has a two-basket solution, but that would be unnecessary for us. Let's say, when my boys grow up, they might need it, teenagers can consume it...
Well, so it's 5 liters. The basket and the tray in it can be put in the dishwasher, we also put it in after baking, and then when the program is finished, it goes in the cupboard into the machine, so we always take it out fresh and clean when we want to use it.
We have been using my K10 for over a year now, at least 2-3 times a week, but sometimes more than once, the non-stick coating did not want to come off either the basket or the tray. Let's say we don't rub them with a substance that would scratch them, maybe that's the reason, we take care of it. The dishwasher does not scratch. So we don't have flaking Teflon or other materials, the Ultenic oven is perfect from this point of view as well.
In terms of performance, this oven is a very good compromise. I have tried 1700 watts and 1300 watts. The 1700 did not give more, the 1300 was not enough. So this average value is just right, it was not by chance that I kept this oven for myself.
The machine, like the smart one, can be controlled with the touch-sensitive buttons on the top. I like to use these. It's interesting, because our old oven had similar ones, but I didn't like them for some reason. I do not know why. On the old oven, I set the temperature and cooking time manually.
However, with the Ultenic, I like the pre-programmed cooking modes, which may be because they are well programmed. In other words, if I'm baking deep-frozen French fries, it's enough to touch the pictogram that represents French fries, and the cooking time and temperature will be correct. But now that I'm writing these words, I'm thinking about whether there was a way that wasn't good, but I don't remember a single one, even though I used to cook fish, crab, all kinds of meat, and even pastries in it.
Ohh, and before I forget, since I've been using this kind of oven, our bread hasn't dried out either. Sure. There is a trick: you put the dried bread under the tap for a bit, carefully wet the crust, but so that it doesn't get wet, then put it in the oven, heat it up, and you will have bread that looks like it was freshly taken out of the bakery from the oven.
Well, the 40 deka breads and loaves that are common these days fit right into the Ultenic basket, so it happens quite often that I refresh bread in it for dinner.
What haven't I talked about yet? I didn't write down the external dimensions, this may also be important if someone wants to store it in a closet, as we do. So the oven has a receiving size of 27,1 x 27,1 x 30,6 centimeters and weighs 5,7 kilograms. I think this is good, I mean the size and the weight, it is not difficult to put it away and take it out when we want to use it.
I haven't mentioned the baking temperature and time yet. The latter can vary between 1 and 60 minutes, and for the former, the range in which we can use it is 75-205 celsius.
Let the baking practices come, just in case that makes someone want to buy!
Well, as I wrote, I am a black belt in the subject, which in this case does not mean anything extra. It means that I am aware that it can be difficult to bake without fat or oil. Now, of course, many people complain about how well the deep-fried fried meat in the store can be fried, as well as the potatoes, but they forget that they do contain a little oil.
Of course, there is oil in breadcrumbs, and there is also oil or other fat in krumplin. This is how it can happen that you don't need to use oil for frozen meals bought in the store. What you need, however, is home-made fried meat and french fries. The good news is that we are not talking about decims when it comes to oil, but almost drops.
If you are frying fried meat, you can mix a little oil into the breadcrumbs yourself, or you can buy a small brush, you know, with which you brush the top of the cookies with a little egg white, and gently coat the breaded meat with oil.
The situation is not complicated with the potatoes either, you pour a very small amount of oil on the cut slices, then shake them well and you're done.
It is worth following this method for almost every meal where fat is required. If you bake it this way, you will get a delicious, crispy crust, whether it is plain bread or oat bran bread or whatever. The French fries won't be dry, bleached, dried out either, but as yellow and crispy as the ones I used to fry in oil.
So what are the advantages of such a small oven?
Well, the first is saving energy. As they say, the cheapest energy is the one you don't use. My readers also often ask why this is better than a traditional convection oven. Well, in basically nothing, except for two things, it uses a tenth of the electricity to cook something, and the food is ready in a quarter of the time.
This is the second major argument, along with time. Because I always have the least amount of it. When I bake in my Ultenic oven, I save time, a lot. Because by the time a traditional convection oven heats up to 180-200 degrees, I have already taken the food out of my small Ultenic oven and the family is having lunch happily.
When I describe this, of course, there are always objections that there is more room in the air mixing, which is true. In fact, it's no secret, I also use it, because nowadays guests come and there are eight or ten of us, so 5 liters of Ultenic is not enough. So the situation here is the same as elsewhere, we live with reason and try to manage everything in its place and use everything for what it is meant for.
There is another advantage, the absence of odor. In other words, there is a smell, because the cooking food has a smell, but I use it near the odor extractor, I usually turn it on while baking, so that little smell goes out into the garden. What I don't have at all is the smell of oil, which I can't stand.
If these benefits still seem insufficient to someone, then last but not least, I would like to mention your health, the condition of your blood vessels and similar things, which according to all the literature are good for you, but all our food is full of fat and oil.
Oh, and no, I'm not obsessed with health, I'm well aware that there are foods that need fat, but I'm saying that if you don't need it, at least don't use it there.
Sum it!
As you can see, this test wasn't really a test, in the sense that I didn't start baking all kinds of things in the Ultenic K10-E, because I've been doing this for more than a year in the version without E that I use. On the other hand, this is also a test, a durability test
durable, as I can describe that the Ultenic K10 is not only faultless in the short term, while a tester tries it, but has been faultless for more than a year now.
The outer cover is not scratched. The plastic didn't get tired from the heat, didn't dull, didn't start to chip or crack. The touch sensitive buttons are flawless. The cover is not damaged either, it hasn't lost its shine, it's like when I took it out of the box. As I wrote, the non-stick material of the basket does not come off, it is scratch-free and flawless to this day.
In other words, the bottom line is that Ultenic's oven is a very well-made piece and in this very large one year period, despite the very frequent use, it shows no signs of fatigue. Based on the current state, I think this will be my opinion in a year, probably two years, so this machine seems like a pretty long-term investment.
I don't think I can write anything else clever (or stupid). Just that I think the HUF 22 this oven costs is worth spending on it, you won't regret it!
In the end, all that's left is the usual stuff. This oven will be delivered to you from a Czech warehouse if you order it. This means several things. One is that you don't have to pay extra VAT, the other is that it is not subject to customs duty, and the third is that it will also be a great Christmas gift! And the price, as I mentioned, is very friendly, since the BGDB021 with coupon code, now a Black Friday only HUF 28 instead of HUF 000 in the sale, which I think is a gift price, i.e. a double gift, on the one hand, to the one who receives it, and on the other hand, to the one who buys it.
