Introductory
1More is one of the best manufacturers in the Chinese market, it is no coincidence that Xiaomi is also working with them. Slowly I have a feeling with them like with a DJI in the area of drones. If they continue like this, they will dominate the market in no time.
1MORE PistonBuds Pro was introduced to the general public today, and you can read the first test in Hungarian. At the end of the introduction, you will also find an unpacking video about the earpiece and its phone program.

The box has a typical 1More design, on top of the tabbed, page with some key features, below is a lot of text that no one can read. Let's open it fast!
Lifting the lid in a bag awaits us in the bag. Below it, in the next box, you will find the essential USB Type-C cable for charging, 3 pairs of silicone plugs of different sizes, and at the bottom there will be the description and the installation guide. I hope you won’t need this if you read this article!
The charging box was not nearly as design as the 1More Comfobuds Pro in my last 1More article. In fact, I would rather say the storage is very restrained. However, quite elegant, the quality of plastic, good to hold.
The cover on the top of the box looks metal, nice as it breaks the light. There is a indicator LED on the front panel, which changes color depending on the charge. The USB connector is located on the opposite side, at the back.
The top of the box opens easily, but the magnet holds it in place with enough strength, I have a hard time imagining it opening accidentally. It is quite difficult to imagine leaving the ear out of it because they are also sitting in place with the help of a magnet.
The shape of the earphones is approx. it resembles the shape of the aforementioned Comfobuds just as their boxes resemble each other. While the latter is a designer, playful piece, the subject of our test is an extremely restrained piece.
The colors are also subdued, as black and white are optional, there is no blue color I like very much here. There are no down stems either, the microphone, antenna, drive, everything is wrapped in a round case.
The only interesting, or perhaps even beautiful, detail is the cover on the outside of the tab that mimics the lid of the filling box. Here, too, the light is refracted nicely on the metal or metal-like cover.

The first, and I think the most important, is noise reduction, for which 1MORE PistonBuds Pro can use 2 or 2 microphones per side. Two of these are dedicated to noise reduction, and the other two are for conversation, meaning you can hear our voice on the other end of the “line” with whom you are talking on the phone.
Of course, the more interesting are the two microphones for noise reduction, which literally sample from the inside, from our ear canal. Let’s say it makes sense somewhere, as the noise that “passes through the ear and can reach our eardrum through the ear canal must be filtered out.
According to the factory data, the amount of active and intelligent noise filtering reaches -38 dB, which is a very human value.
It is still shocking to me that they can build relatively large membranes into these tiny structures. The diaphragm of the PistonBuds Pro is round 1 centimeter in diameter. The membrane itself is three-layered, the outermost layer being a titanium plate. We can say that we can enjoy full sounds from this.
I am particularly sensitive to battery life with these earplugs. This is because I have run into products several times where the manufacturer only specifies how long the headset can operate without an external power source, using the energy stored in the charging box.
Then, during the test, it turns out that the given e.g. 12 hours is a nice result, but you have to charge the earpiece every half hour if you want to use it. It's gas!
PistonBuds Pro does not run into such an error. The headset itself can operate for 7 and a half hours on a single charge, and the charging box provides up to 30 hours of operation. True, these are the values that apply when the noise filter is turned off. If we turn on the ANC, we get 5 + 15- or a total operating time of 20 hours. This is not bad either!
The low value of the delay is even highlighted. Many people probably know that Bluetooth devices can be quite slippery if e.g. we watch a movie and listen to the sound through the earphones. The mouth is already moving, but speech is always a hair's breadth away.
Well, they still couldn't solve this problem, the experience had improved a lot. For PistonBuds Pro, the standard 12-15 millisecunum delay was reduced to 9 ms. This is probably where Bluetooth 5.2 technology came in handy.

Use and experience
I'm not writing about the software right now, anyone interested feel free to go back to the previous 1More article, the software hasn't changed. If you are not curious about the details, I will write briefly about it that it is easy to use and it was not unnecessary to make at all, because we can adjust a lot of things through it. Not to mention the 12 pre-programmed soundtracks, everything from podcast-optimized to bass-enhanced.

I usually start with what kind of music to listen to in that ear, and then what to call with. I’m reversing this now (at least in part) because for PistonBuds Pro, the biggest surprise for me was the noise reduction. It works quite wonderfully, which means it is life-threateningly good on the street!
It filters out noise, such as traffic noise, amazingly effectively. I don't even dare recommend driving with a noise filter on, driving a car or motorbike! However, if you sit on the subway, tram or bus, it is worth turning on because the outside world ceases to exist.
It also filters out office noise, such as typing noise, almost without residue. What’s even more interesting is that in the case of strong winds, it also removes its noise with good efficiency.
The music can come!
For PistonBuds Pro, the first thing that comes to mind is balanced sound. I used to say that in the case of earphones and headphones, the more expensive the quality of the product, the more it will be used for music. PistonBuds Pro isn't expensive, but you can still use it for a lot of music.
In practice, this means that what is good for everything will be good for nothing in particular.
No, don’t stop reading this article because that doesn’t mean PistonBuds Pro is bad in everything, on the contrary, it’s very good in everything, there’s simply no style that would be outstandingly super.
The mid range is perfect. The vocals are nicely separated and well understood by either female or male performers. The high notes don’t chirp in the barely audible range, but a little lower they sound nice and clear, the cymbals are good to listen to. In the case of bass, such as rock music, the sound of the bass guitar is nicely humming, and we can easily distinguish it from the sound of other instruments.
I tried several styles as usual. Perhaps the least good for electronic music, the sounds cut with a sharp knife, the extra high ones don’t come out the way they should. Perfect for any text-centric music, just as rock ballads sound very nice on it. Wilder music, more hoarse sounds provide an average experience, live music, whether serious or light, is more of a field for the ears.
The stage image is appropriate regardless of the type of grass, and the stereo sound distributes the space nicely. The sound of the instruments can be separated with a little attention, even at higher volumes the music does not become a cacophony. Overall, as is the case with 1More, quality is well ahead of price, and in this case, not only does it sound nice in terms of quality, price, but anyway.
Summary
What can I say, 1More has put together a brilliant ear again! If I compare it to ComfoBuds Pro, I can say that PistonBuds Pro will be a hair's breadth better for making phone calls and conversations, while ComfoBuds Pro will be a hair's breadth better for music.
Don’t think about cardinal differences, we can really talk about nuanced differences.
As the subject of the previous 1More article, PistonBuds Pro is extremely convenient. It sits fairly firmly in my ears so it will be suitable for sports as well, it has not fallen out of my ears and here is the IPX5 water resistance as well. Controlling on a touch-sensitive surface (completely familiar) also does its job well and accurately.
