65-nanometer AMD processors only next year
The company's latest schedule also includes central units produced with a bandwidth of 65 nanometers.
Published on the HKPEC news site schedule, which covers AMD desktop processors, will reveal two new processor cores, each with 65nm manufacturing technology.
AMD promises Brisbane for the first half of 2007. Be sure to target the upper category with this manufacturer, this also shows that it will soon have two cores.
Sparta is expected to hit in the second half of 2007. This procit is intended by the manufacturer for the lower segment and, as shown in the image referenced above, will replace today’s Semprons first and later Manila.
For the time being, there is no information on whether the new processes will support security features called AMD only by the Presidium and As Pacifica known virtualization technique, or something else, but in the case of Brisbane, this will almost certainly be the case. Both processors fit into the (A) M2 socket, which probably means that DDR3 memories will not yet be supported by these processors. Simultaneously with the appearance of the new central units, AMD will also stop production of the current Socket 754/939/940 processors, but in the meantime a lot of water will flow down the Danube.
