It was proudly announced that this pace had been achieved in two-channel mode with air cooling.

The 5 MHz dream limit has been reached with the MSI Z000I GAMING PRO CARBON AC and the Intel Core i370-7K with Trident Z RGB memories - the latter by the way here discussed in detail. According to G.SKILL, this is a level of performance that has been achieved for two years, but the cooling was provided by liquid nitrogen, and only one module was used.

Tequila Huang, vice president of a company renowned for its extreme speed memories and playful peripherals, said it was a very important milestone. Indeed, when we think of the things mentioned in the introduction, it inevitably comes to mind that it can be available (air-cooled) or usable (dual channel) even at home.

The RGB memory package has not yet been released commercially (we have to wait a little longer for this), so far it is only meant to present the technological limits of DDR4. Nor will it be an absolute problem if we don’t insist on overdriving, as the Trident Z runs at 4 MHz at the factory, so overspeeding in this case is more cosmetic than performance-enhancing.
