By 2018, the release of Intel coffee processors will be delayed

Intel’s next-generation Coffee Lake-based CPUs are reportedly only available in 2018. While we think AMD’s Ryzen and Ryzen ThreadRipper processors, based on the new HEDT platform, are creating a competitive situation, Intel thinks they’re not eating porridge so hot and aren’t in a hurry to release the new 14/16/18 core proc. It is currently rumored that the new LGA 1151 V2 socket will only be available next February. Unfortunately, the V2 mark on the connector type is not a misspelling, although the number of pins is unchanged, the new processors will not yet be compatible with current LGA 1151 sheets. So the bottom line is we can only expect one Kaby Lake update this year, and the Coffee Lake core is coming in 2018.
